Art for
palestine
More than just Art
Welcome to Art for Palestine, a deeply meaningful initiative launched by Rana Khatib Thomas in loving memory of a dear friend who will forever be remembered. Our mission is to support individuals and organizations dedicated to advocating for equality and compassion, with a primary focus on Palestine.
In our inaugural initiative, I am offering almost 200 of my own paintings for sale, as well as merchandise and a GoFundMe campaign, with a unique commitment: 100% of the profits will be directly allocated to funding the postgraduate studies of Asma and Hiba, twin sisters from Gaza. These talented young women carry within them the hopes and aspirations for a brighter future. By dedicating my own artwork and this initiative to their cause, I aim to provide them with the support they deserve.

about art for palestine
We are not an organization, but primarily one person driven by a deep desire to contribute to a more compassionate world through impactful initiatives. While I acknowledge that I cannot single-handedly change the world, I am determined to make a meaningful difference where I can.
In this first initiative, I take immense pride in dedicating 100% of my profits to support two exceptional young women who hold a special place in my heart. By directing all proceeds towards their education, my aim is to provide them with the opportunities they truly deserve.
Looking ahead, if this initial project proves successful, my commitment to giving back and making a positive impact will endure. In the future, I will continue to sell my paintings and merchandise, with a portion of the profits allocated to supporting various initiatives for Palestine. I firmly believe that every sentient being deserves our unwavering protection, compassion, and support.
For hope. For compassion. For justice. For all. One initiative at a time.
about asma and Hiba
Asma and Hiba, twin sisters from Gaza, initially came to the US for life-changing surgeries when they were 6 years old, in 2003. They lived with Rana and John, who took them in, facilitated their medical procedures, and housed them for 6 months, before they returned them to Gaza. Now, 20 years later, Rana, in memory of John, hopes to bring Asma and Hiba back to the US, this time to provide them with better educational and career opportunities, as well as quality of life.
Our goal is to raise $100,000 to cover Asma and Hiba’s first two years of study and living in the USA as they first develop their English language skill at a community college, before they enroll in university. Read more
There is so much we can do, on multiple fronts. And if we can help, one small initiative at a time, why wouldn't we? For Asma and Hiba, this support is life-altering. While it may not change the lives of their neighbors or undo the injustice inflicted on all Palestinians, it can make a difference to these deserving, ambitious young women. It will restore faith in humanity for their family and relatives. It shows that caring individuals, even those who don’t know them, are willing to step forward and make a difference.
